FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions)

Why am I sharing my meal plan every week?

I know from experience how much time it can take every week to scour the internet looking for quick and easy dinner meals that your family will actually want to eat.

…And when you DO find meals worthy of making your meal plan you start to question how much is this really going to cost me to make?

It is my hope that by sharing what I am cooking every week you will not only find dinner inspiration but that you can see what I am actually spending to make the meals as well.

Why do I shop at multiple stores?

There are a few main reasons why I always shop at multiple stores for my groceries.

  1. I like to shop the sales. – One way to keep grocery costs down is to shop the weekly sales. I prefer Sprouts for produce and some of my meat items because the cost is way lower than other grocery stores in my area. Many times I can find blueberries for $2 or less whereas at my grocery store they are usually double than that.
  2. I use Fetch Rewards – You will notice that I buy a lot of my non-produce/meat items from Target. I do that because more often than not I have fetch reward gift card points to redeem. If I can shave off an extra $20-$30 a week I will do that. By buying those items from Target I can save a lot on my everyday necessities.
  3. Sometimes, it’s better to buy in bulk – For my most used items, I prefer to buy in bulk to avoid having to purchase them every week. Keep in mind not everything is always a good deal at Costco but if the price makes sense I will definitely buy it in bulk.

What do I do with leftovers?

Leftovers are a huge hit over and here and never ever go to waste. Typically we use our leftovers for lunch the next day but if a particular meal makes a ton of food we will eat it the next day for dinner.

Another option we occasionally do is to freeze the unused portion for a future meal.
